Avoid battery problems
A dead battery is the most common reason to call roadside assistance — especially in winter. The good news: a few simple habits can significantly extend its life and save you from a 'car won't start' morning.
Regular checks and a load test
Load-test a battery older than 4-5 years at least once a year — many workshops do it for free. Also keep an eye on the terminals and clamps, as corroded contacts make starting harder.

Don't leave devices switched on
Forgotten lights, a charger in the socket, the radio or A/C with the engine off will drain the battery quickly. Always do a quick check when leaving the car, especially overnight.
Short trips and winter
Frequent short drives don't let the battery recharge. Before winter, top it up with an external charger — frost can finish off a weak battery in no time.
